After Sameer began posting more consistently on LinkedIn, Ryan reached out and started asking questions. Sameer began encouraging Ryan to start posting but Ryan, being the nervous person that he is, took some convincing before releasing his first post. After not getting much traction with the first few posts, Ryan got discouraged, but Sameer reassured him "this is the way" and to stick to it. Sameer reminded him that he needed to post for himself and the engagement would be the cherry on top. This gave Ryan courage to keep posting and continue to build his personal brand.

Sameer tagged along with his wife to Denver because she had a conference. Ryan was living there with his wife at the time. They spent a week together, working at the WeWork during the day, chatting about ideas during lunch and grabbing drinks at the end of the day. By the end of the week, they decided to start a podcast because they both noticed that people were asking them about Sales Engineering in general. Sameer pitched the idea of calling it Diary of a Sales Engineer and Ryan loved it! Thus DOASE was born.
